L’héritage fantôme
Le vieil Auguste, patron du restaurant Chez l’Auvergnat, s’écroule un soir parmi ses clients, frappé à mort. Il a trois fils dont le second, Antoine, est son associé. Ses deux autres fils, Bernard et Ferdinand, se préoccupent avant tout de l’héritage. Ils soupçonnent Antoine d’avoir dérobé l’argent du père, car on n’en trouve aucune trace dans la maison. Or Antoine, qui vit avec le vieil homme depuis de nombreuses années, n’est pas au courant de ses affaires.

The phantom inheritance
Old Auguste, owner of the restaurant Chez l’Auvergnat, collapses one evening among his customers. It has three sons, of which the second, Antoine, is his partner. His two other sons, Bernard and Ferdinand, are primarily concerned with the inheritance. They suspect Antoine of having stolen their father’s cash, as they can find no trace of it in the house. But Antoine, who lived with the old man for many years, was not aware of his affairs.
